Pulling the kitchen out of a tired postwar home, or finally clearing a Bellfield place that has filled up over the years? That is the job a skip handles here most weeks. Binswest has run bins out of Sunshine North since 2010, and Bellfield, a small Banyule pocket between Heidelberg West and Ivanhoe, sits on our daily north-east round. Most blocks out here have a driveway with room beside the house, which matters more than people expect: a bin on your own driveway skips the council permit altogether, and a 4m3 for a single-room strip-out starts from $450. Tell us the address and the load, and we will have the right size on the ground, often the same day.
Same-Day and Next-Day Delivery to Bellfield
Reaching Bellfield is part of our standard rotation, not a special trip, so the delivery window is one you can plan a weekend around. Book before 9am and the skip goes out the same day where activity levels allow. Anything confirmed later is almost always on the ground the next day. A typical run is a Monday drop with a Thursday pickup, and we are on the road six days a week.
Standard hire is three to seven days, with extensions if a renovation runs long, which they tend to. The larger Hooklift bins want about a day’s notice so we can fit them into the truck schedule. Our hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm and Saturday 7am to 1pm, with after-hours support Monday to Saturday and online enquiries answered on Sundays.
About Binswest
When you call about a Bellfield skip, you reach the people who run the trucks, not a call centre passing you down a chain. Binswest was founded in 2010 by Mark to give Melbourne’s northern and western suburbs a reliable local operator, and in the years since we have served more than 6,000 clients. About one in four new bookings comes by referral, which in a pocket as small as Bellfield often means the last renovator on the street.
Every load we collect goes back to our Government-Approved Waste Transfer Station in Sunshine North to be sorted, not tipped straight into the ground. In 2024 that recovered 41% of material to recycling and a further 35% to repurposing, leaving 24% to landfill. A postwar renovation throws off a lot of recoverable timber, brick and tile, so that sorting is where the real difference shows. The hire is fully insured, pickup and delivery run on time, and the starting prices below are real numbers rather than a teaser to be lifted once the truck arrives.
Pricing for Bin Hire in Bellfield
Our pricing is published, not hidden behind a quote form. These are starting prices for general waste in the standard Bellfield delivery zone:
-
from $250
-
from $350
-
from $450
-
from $550
-
from $650
-
priced on quote
Heavier waste types, a longer hire and a kerbside placement that needs a permit can move the final figure, and we will walk you through any of that on the phone. The best-price guarantee comes with no hidden fees, so the number quoted is the number you pay at pickup. The 10m3 and larger bins are quoted on the job because the weight and material vary too much for a flat rate.
Which Skip Size Suits Your Bellfield Job
The work that fills bins in Bellfield is steady rather than dramatic. A new owner modernising a 1960s brick home, a long-term resident doing the renovation they have put off, or a downsizing clear-out of a house that has held a lifetime of things. The job decides the size more than the suburb does.
A single room, a bathroom or a laundry with old tiles, cabinetry and a bit of plaster, generally fits a 3m3 or 4m3. A full kitchen, or two rooms at once, tends to want a 6m3 so you are not held up waiting on a second bin. Stripping a whole house back, or clearing one ahead of a knock-down rebuild, is where the 8m3 earns its place. Anything larger than that, including the Hooklift bodies for demolition and bigger commercial loads, we size against the job and quote directly.
One word on weight. Brick, concrete, tile and soil are dense, so a bin that looks half full can already be at its limit. On a Bellfield bathroom or a paved-area lift we will often point you to a smaller bin loaded sensibly rather than a big one the truck cannot legally take, and we will say so when you describe what is coming out.

City of Banyule Permits, and When a Bellfield Skip Needs One
A permit is only ever about where the bin lands. On your own property, none is needed, and on most Bellfield blocks the driveway or the hardstand beside the house gives a skip somewhere to sit off the road. That keeps the City of Banyule placement permit out of it entirely, so the only real questions become the size and the day.
The kerb is the exception. If the only spot is the road, the nature strip or the footpath, that is a public-land placement, and a Banyule permit applies. It comes up on the tighter frontages, and on redevelopment streets where a house has come down and the block is mid-build with nowhere left to stand a bin. The City of Banyule publishes the application and the conditions on its website, and that is the right place to check timing for your street. We do not lodge the permit for you, but we will tell you straight away whether your spot needs one and confirm the council’s current rate at booking, rather than print a figure here that may have moved.

What You Can and Can’t Put in the Bin
Most renovation and clear-out waste is straightforward: timber, plaster, old cabinetry, furniture, cardboard, household junk and green waste, plus brick, concrete and tile in a heavy-waste bin. The one thing worth flagging for Bellfield is the age of the housing. Pre-1980s homes here can carry asbestos in old sheeting, eaves and fences, and that material cannot go in any skip from any operator. It has to be handled by a licensed asbestos removalist and taken to a facility set up for it, so let us know if you suspect it and we will point you the right way.
The other items barred under waste regulations are flammable liquids, wet paint, gas bottles, tyres and batteries. We also work to OH&S load-safety limits, which is why a bin must not be filled above its rim. None of this is fine print to catch you out. It is the line between a load we can legally cart and one we cannot. If you are unsure about a specific item, ask when you book, and the full list is set out on our what’s allowed in our skip bins page.

What Makes a Small-Suburb Booking Easy to Get Right
Bellfield is the kind of suburb a big operator treats as a name on a service map. The advantage of a local round is that the page you are reading turns on your actual block, not on a blanket rule. We have put skips on these streets long enough to know the pattern: the driveways usually hold the size you want, the permit question often falls away before it is even raised, and the load on a postwar reno is rarely as large as it feels mid-demolition.
So describe the rooms coming out, or the pile in the backyard, and we will match a bin to it the first time and tell you whether the spot you have in mind keeps you permit-free. That read is most of getting the quote right, and it is the part a form on a generic page can never do for you.
Bin Hire Across the Banyule Suburbs Near Bellfield
Bellfield is small, and the suburbs around it sit in the same City of Banyule rotation on the same pricing. If your job is next door rather than in Bellfield proper, these pages carry the local detail. Directly north, we cover bin hire in Heidelberg Heights, the postwar rise above Bell Street. Sharing the postcode to the west, there is our service for Heidelberg West, the Olympic Village suburb. And to the south sits the established side, where we handle bin hire in Ivanhoe and its heritage streets. Further out on the same Banyule round we also run bin hire in Eaglemont on the river side, bin hire in Greensborough to the north-east, and bin hire in Bundoora up past the ring road. For the metro-wide picture and the full spread of councils we cover, see our main bin hire Melbourne page.
Frequently Asked Questions
A 2m³ mini starts from $250, and the price steps up through each size to the 8m³ at $650. The 10m³ and larger bins are priced on quote. Heavy waste, a longer hire or a kerbside placement that needs a permit can change the total, so call 0427 166 444 with your address and the job for a firm figure.
Only if the bin goes on the road, the nature strip or the footpath. If it sits on your own driveway or property, no permit is needed, and on most Bellfield blocks the driveway has the room, so the question often does not arise. We confirm it against your street when you book.
A single bathroom or laundry usually fits a 3m3 or 4m3. A full kitchen or two rooms together tends to want a 6m3. Stripping a whole house back generally calls for an 8m3. Tell us the rooms and the materials and we will match it first time.
Yes. General household and renovation waste can go in together, and green waste can be mixed with it for most clear-outs. Keep heavy material like brick, concrete and tile to a separate heavy-waste bin, since that is rated and filled differently. If your load is a mix, tell us when you book and we will set you up with the right bin.
