Emptying a home that has filled up across forty years, or resetting a tired front and back garden in one weekend, is the job most people in Dallas hire a bin for. Binswest has run skips into Melbourne’s north since 2010, and on most streets here the news is good before you have even chosen a size: the postwar blocks in this part of Hume come with a driveway and a front setback, so the skip stands on your own concrete and a council permit stays out of it. A 4m3 on the driveway, from $450, covers the usual clean-out or garden overhaul. Tell us the address and roughly what is coming out, and we will match the bin to the load before you commit to anything. Book before 9am and a same-day drop is often there for the asking.
Same-Day and Next-Day Delivery to Dallas
Dallas sits on our daily northern run out of the Sunshine North yard, so reaching it is routine, not a special trip. Call before 9am on a weekday and we can usually get a bin onto your block the same day, subject to how full the run already is. Miss that window and the next day is the fallback, not a wait. The phone line is open Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm and Saturday 7am to 1pm, and online enquiries are read any day, Sundays included, so a weekend booking is ready to go first thing Monday.
Most household hires sit on the standard rhythm: dropped off, filled across the next several days, then collected on the scheduled pickup. If you need longer than a few days because the job is stop-start, say so when you book and we will extend the hire rather than rush you.
About Binswest
Binswest is a locally owned business that has been hiring out skips since 2010, founded by Mark and run from a Government-Approved Waste Transfer Station in Sunshine North. More than 6,000 clients across Melbourne’s north, west, inner suburbs and the CBD have booked with us over those years, and a quarter of new work comes from people an old customer pointed our way. That depot is also why the recycling claim is real rather than a slogan: every load comes back to be sorted by hand, and in 2024 we recovered 41% of it for recycling and another 35% for repurposing, leaving just 24% for landfill. For a Dallas clean-out, that means the old fence palings, the green waste and the broken-up path do not simply vanish into a hole in the ground.
Pricing for Bin Hire in Dallas
Most of the operators working this part of the north keep their prices behind a quote form. We would rather you saw the numbers before you pick up the phone, so here is the full starting list:
-
from $250
-
from $350
-
from $450
-
from $550
-
from $650
-
priced on quote
These are genuine from-prices for a standard hire. The figure can move with the weight of the load and the type of waste, which is why heavy rubble is worth mentioning up front, but there is no surprise distance fee tacked on at the gate because Dallas already sits inside our daily run. When you call we confirm the size, the price and the delivery day together, with nothing hidden in the small print.
What Fills a Dallas Skip, and Which Size Suits It
A home that one family has held for decades tends to release its contents all at once: a kitchen that has done its time, a garage packed with a decade of overflow, a shed at the back full of things kept for a someday that never came. Older gardens out here do the same, a boundary hedge that has outgrown the fence, a buckled concrete path, beds that stopped earning their keep. Whichever it is, the trick is matching the bin to the volume so you are not paying for air or topping out halfway through.
As a rough guide:
- 2m3: a single-room declutter, a small garage tidy, a boot-load or two of green waste.
- 3m3: a bathroom strip-out or a modest garden clear.
- 4m3: the everyday Dallas size, suited to a full clean-out, a kitchen refit or a decent garden reset.
- 6m3: a multi-room renovation or a larger garden-and-shed clearance.
- 8m3: a whole-house clear-out or a small home demolition.
If a renovation or a redevelopment is pushing past that, we run sizes right up to 31m3 through Marrel and Hooklift bins. Those bigger units are priced on quote rather than off the list, because the load and the access shape the number. Tell us what is coming out and we will point you to the size that fits, not the one that pads the invoice.
One thing worth flagging early: broken brick, concrete and soil are heavy long before they look full. If your clear-out includes an old path or a dug-out garden bed, mention it, because dense rubble has its own weight limit and a part-filled bin can still be at capacity.
- Monday to Friday7am – 5pm
- Saturday7am – 5pm
Do You Need a Hume Permit in Dallas?
For the large majority of Dallas bookings, no. Hume City Council only requires a placement permit when a bin sits on the road, the kerb or the nature strip. Because most homes here have a driveway and a front yard with room to spare, the skip goes on your own property and the council never enters the conversation.
The exception is a block where access is genuinely tight, or a job that needs the bin out on the street for the truck to reach it. If that is your situation, a Hume permit applies, and we will tell you when you book rather than leave you to discover it. We will confirm the council’s current placement-permit rate at the time so there is no guessing on cost. The simplest path is always private placement, and on a typical Dallas frontage that is usually available.

What You Can and Can’t Put in the Bin
General household, garden, renovation and clean-out waste all go in without a second thought: furniture, timber, plasterboard, green waste, broken-up concrete and brick within the weight limit, old fittings and the general clutter of a long-held home.
A short list stays out, set by safety rules and the transfer station’s licence: asbestos, gas bottles, tyres, car and household batteries, wet paint and flammable liquids. These need specialist handling and cannot travel in a skip. If you are unsure whether an item belongs, ask when you book and we will give you a straight answer, or point you to the full guidance on what is allowed in our skip bins.
- Wet Paints
Liquid paints or leftover tins
- Flammable Liquid
Petrol, thinners, solvents, oils
- Asbestos
Any bonded or loose asbestos
- Gas Bottles
BBQ cylinders, LPG tanks
- Tyres. Batteries*
Car tires, lithium's or lead-acid batteries
Do not overfill skip bins for OH&S reasons

Hume Suburbs We Also Cover Near Dallas
Dallas is one stop on a daily Hume round, so if your job spans more than one address, or you have read this far from a street next door, we serve the surrounding suburbs on the same run. That includes bin hire in Coolaroo to the south, Jacana in the same Hume pocket next door, and Meadow Heights to the west, as well as bin hire in Attwood a few minutes east and bin hire in Craigieburn further up the same northern run. The pricing, the same-day-by-9am window and the Sunshine North sorting are identical wherever the bin lands.
Frequently Asked Questions
The 2m3 mini starts from $250 and suits a single room or a small garden tidy. For a full house clean-out or a combined garden-and-garage job, the 4m3 from $450 is usually the better value, because two trips in a small bin often costs more than one right-sized hire. Tell us the job and we will steer you to the size that actually fits.
On most postwar blocks here, yes. The driveways in this part of Hume were built wide enough for a bin to sit beside the house, which is what keeps the council permit out of it. If your access is narrow or the side gate is the only way through, tell us at booking and we will recommend a size the truck can safely set down.
Often, if you book by 9am on a weekday. Dallas is on our daily northern run, so a same-day drop is regularly available rather than promised, depending on how full that day’s round already is. After 9am, next-day is the standard fallback.
Yes. Every load returns to our Sunshine North transfer station and is sorted by hand. In 2024 that recovered 41% of material for recycling and 35% for repurposing, with 24% going to landfill, so the bulk of a typical clean-out is kept out of the ground.
