Ready to pull out the original kitchen, or reset a garden that has caught up with you a few years after handover? That is the call we take most often for bin hire in Weir Views, where the first wave of estate homes near the old Melton Weir has settled in and the early jobs have turned into proper renovations and garden overhauls. Binswest has run skips into the western growth corridor from our Sunshine North yard since 2010, with more than 6,000 jobs behind us, so the first thing we ask is what is coming out rather than what size you think you want. The estate sits on wide blocks with double-width driveways, which keeps the bin on your own concrete and the council out of most bookings. Tell us your street and the job, and we will match the size to the load before you commit to anything.
Renovating, or Resetting a Garden a Few Years On?
A home that went up in the estate’s first wave is now hitting the age where the original fit-out comes out and the garden needs more than a tidy. Whatever you are clearing, naming the load is where a good booking starts.
If it is a first renovation, an original kitchen or a tired bathroom in a home only a handful of years old, you are looking at old cabinetry, splashback tiles and a bin’s worth of demolition waste. If it is the garden, an overgrown bed, lifted turf and a row of cut-back screening shrubs fill a skip faster than people expect, and any dug-out soil or old path underneath adds serious weight on top. A straight clear-out, a garage that has quietly become the family’s overflow since you moved in, is different again. Tell us which of these it is and roughly how much, and we will steer you to a bin that fits both the volume and the weight, because a load of soil and rubble reaches its limit long before it looks full.
About Binswest
Binswest is a locally owned skip bin business, started in Sunshine North by Mark in 2010 to give Melbourne’s west a bin company that handles the disposal end properly. Sixteen years on, more than 6,000 jobs have run through our Government-Approved Waste Transfer Station, and we are fully insured for peace-of-mind hire. The disposal is the part we are proudest of: across 2024 we recovered 41% of everything we collected as recycling and another 35% as repurposed material, leaving just 24% to landfill. For a Weir Views job, that means the old cabinetry, lifted turf and rubble from your clear-out gets sorted for recovery at the yard rather than tipped straight into the ground.
Pricing for Bin Hire in Weir Views
Most operators out this way keep the number behind a quote form. We publish ours. These are the starting prices, set out before you book:
-
from $250
-
from $350
-
from $450
-
from $550
-
from $650
-
priced on quote
Two honest notes. These are starting prices, so the final figure moves with the weight and the waste type: a skip of clay or concrete carries a heavy-material rate that a skip of light garden trimmings does not. And there are no hidden fees stacked on at the gate. The best-price guarantee means the price we name is the price you pay, and the starting figure already covers the drive from Sunshine North, so the distance out to Weir Views never turns up as a surprise line.
Council Kerbside Bins or a Hired Skip: Which One You Need
A common first question out here is whether the council wheelie bins will cover the job. For weekly household waste, collection days and a replacement bin, those kerbside services run through the City of Melton, and they are exactly the right answer.
A renovation or a garden overhaul is a different problem. The volume from a single-room strip-out or a backyard reset is far more than a fortnightly bin can take, and a hard-waste collection will not stretch to building rubble. That is where a hired skip earns its place: it sits on your driveway for the length of the job, takes the timber, tiles, soil and green waste in one go, and leaves when you are done. If you are clearing more than a couple of council bins would hold, a skip is almost always the cheaper and faster way through.

Same-Day and Next-Day Delivery to Weir Views
Weir Views sits on the daily City of Melton round we already drive, so reaching an estate address out here is routine rather than a special trip. Book before 9am and a same-day drop is usually on the table, depending on how full that day’s run already is. Anything booked later almost always lands the next day, and there is no out-of-zone surcharge for the distance from our Sunshine North yard.
We answer the phones Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm and Saturday 7am to 1pm, and the online enquiry form takes bookings every day, Sundays included. Standard hire runs three to seven days with extensions if a staged garden or renovation job needs longer, and you get a confirmation with your delivery date the moment the booking is set.

What You Can and Can’t Put in the Bin
Our bins take the everyday waste a Weir Views job produces: general household rubbish and old furniture, green waste from the garden, and building materials such as bricks, tiles, concrete and plaster from a renovation or landscaping push. Commercial and light industrial waste is fine too. The load needs to sit level with the rim rather than heaped over it, so the truck can lift it safely under OH&S load rules.
A short list stays out of every skip, by regulation and for safety:
- Asbestos, bonded or loose
- Wet paint and liquid paints
- Flammable liquids such as petrol, thinners and solvents
- Gas bottles and LPG cylinders
- Tyres and batteries
If you are unsure whether something belongs in the bin, ask when you book, or read our full guide to what is allowed in our skip bins before your bin arrives. It is a quick answer, and far cheaper than a contamination charge at the gate.
- Wet Paints
Liquid paints or leftover tins
- Flammable Liquid
Petrol, thinners, solvents, oils
- Asbestos
Any bonded or loose asbestos
- Gas Bottles
BBQ cylinders, LPG tanks
- Tyres. Batteries*
Car tires, lithium's or lead-acid batteries
Do not overfill skip bins for OH&S reasons

Which Skip Size Fits a Refresh or Renovation Load
The right size follows what you are filling the bin with, not how the pile looks in the yard. Soil, brick, tile and concrete are heavy well before they are bulky, so a half-full bin of hard waste can outweigh a brimming bin of furniture. Here is what the common sizes handle.
- 2m3: a small garage tidy or a single-room declutter. Top-load, no door.
- 3m3: a bathroom strip-out or a modest garden clear. Top-load.
- 4m3: the usual pick for a first-garden reset or a single-room renovation you want to barrow into. Wheelbarrow door and ramp.
- 6m3: a larger landscaping overhaul or a bigger renovation. Wheelbarrow door and ramp.
- 8m3: a full home declutter or a heavy mixed reno load. Wheelbarrow door and ramp.
For a whole-block landscape or a building job, we carry hooklift bins from 10m3 up to 31m3. Those larger sizes are priced on quote rather than off a fixed list, so tell us the job and we will give you a number. If a soil or concrete load has you caught between two sizes, ring us before you book and we will talk it through, because the heavy answer is often a smaller bin than the volume suggests.
Does a Weir Views Skip Need a City of Melton Permit?
For most homes here, no. Weir Views is part of the City of Melton, and on these wide estate blocks the skip almost always stands on your own driveway or hardstand. A bin on private property does not need a council permit, which keeps the booking simple.
A permit only comes into it when the bin has to sit on the road, the kerb or the nature strip, which can happen on a courtyard block or a corner with no clear hardstand. When that is the case, a City of Melton placement permit applies. We will flag it as soon as we see your address, and we will confirm the council’s current placement-permit fee with you at booking, so nothing on that front catches you out after the bin lands. Tell us where you are and we will sort out which way it falls before the truck leaves the yard.
Melton Suburbs We Service Around Weir Views
Weir Views sits in a cluster of City of Melton suburbs we run daily, so a neighbouring address is no further out of our way. All three below are in the City of Melton, same as Weir Views:
- Bin Hire Strathtulloh: the raw new-build blocks on the estate edge
- Bin Hire Brookfield: the newer estate country west of the town centre
- Bin Hire Kurunjang: the established streets on the Melton town side
We run the same daily trucks across to bin hire in Burnside and bin hire in Burnside Heights on the Caroline Springs side, all inside the same council. If your job runs to an address beyond that cluster, our wider Bin Hire Melbourne coverage reaches across 15-plus council areas through the west, north, CBD and inner suburbs.
Frequently Asked Questions
For a kitchen or bathroom strip-out, a 4m3 usually does it, and a 3m3 covers a smaller bathroom. If the renovation runs to two rooms or a load of tiles and concrete, step up to a 6m3. The hard waste adds weight fast, so tell us roughly how much is in the mix and we will size it to the weight, not just the volume.
A 4m3 is the safe all-rounder for pulled-out beds, lifted turf and cut-back shrubs, and a 6m3 if you are clearing a bigger block or lifting an old path as well. Any dug-out soil or broken concrete underneath is heavy, so let us know it is in there and we will recommend the right size.
On most Weir Views blocks, yes. The estate’s wide driveways mean the bin can usually stand on your own concrete, which keeps a City of Melton permit out of it. If the only practical spot is the kerb or nature strip, a permit does apply, and we will confirm the current rate with you at booking. Either way, we confirm the placement against your address before you commit.
Weir Views is on our daily Melton round, so book before 9am and a same-day drop is often available, subject to how full the run is. Later bookings almost always arrive the next day, with no extra fee for the distance, and we confirm the delivery day with you when you book.
